The PerFrom, team will host a session during the XXV IUFRO World Congress 2019, which will take place in Curitiba, Paraná, Brazil (at Expo Unimed), from September 29 to October 5, and will be organized and coordinated by the Brazilian Forest Service (SFB) and EMBRAPA.
Approximately three thousand participants are expected at the event, which will discuss various aspects related to forest research.
The Congress will be a great opportunity to exchange experiences and knowledge on technological innovations, as well as to stay up to date on the latest research findings and trends for the future of forestry and forest research in all areas of the world. It will also represent a major meeting place for researchers, teachers, students, and professionals in the forestry sector worldwide to come together.
Lauri Valsta (University of Helsinki) and Alex Giurca (University of Freiburg), together with Eric Hansen (Oregon State University) will host session C9d “Societal perceptions, new products, markets, and business models of the circular forest bioeconomy”
In this session, we aim to critically explore regional disparities of national bioeconomy policies and the perceptions of a forest-based bioeconomy. We are particularly interested in social-scientific studies in the field of forest-bioeconomy analyzing perceptions and acceptance of various stakeholder groups (e.g., policy makers, forest owners, industry representatives, environmental NGOs, urban consumers, students etc.) in different countries. In addition, this session addresses cutting edge business and marketing theory and practice with a special focus on contributions to a greener future. Accordingly, priority is given to topics that directly address this theme.
The session is proposed as presentation of papers with appropriate time set aside for Q&A.
